Taitokerau Māori Business Awards 2025

To be eligible for application to the awards:

Your business must be a Māori owned or controlled entity.
You will need to state on the application form the geographic area in which your business mainly trades. Preference will be given to those businesses that can whakapapa or have established links to the Taitokerau rohe and are trading within the Northland Regional Council boundary.

You are eligible to enter all, or any, of the categories in these awards which you believe are relevant to your business.

For the purpose of definition, ‘Māori owned or controlled’ is determined by the ownership model and the Directors/Trustees who dominate the Board.

Closing Date

Your completed application form and supporting documentation must be submitted no later than 5pm on Friday 14 February 2025 to Louise Wilson - info@tehiringa.org.

Registration

To be eligible for nomination to the award:

A nomination body will have the mandate of their entity/organisation to nominate the 2025 Māori Business Leader or Māori Rangatahi Leader.

The nomination body is to evidence the consent of the nominee. This evidence to be attached to Section 2, signed by both the organisation and the nominee.

The nominated Māori business leader or Māori Rangatahi Leader must whakapapa and reside in Taitokerau.
The nominating body is to provide evidence of roles/activities the nominee has undertaken to be 2025 Māori Business leader or Māori Rangatahi Leader of the Year. (Section 2)

Video Requirements
Video Resolution	1920x1080 pixels (Full HD) for optimal quality. Avoid resolutions lower than this.
Aspect Ratio	16:9 aspect ratio (standard widescreen format). Crop or adjust if necessary.
File Format	MP4 (H.264 codec recommended). Max file size: 500MB
Orientation	Landscape (horizontal). Portrait orientation may require cropping/resizing.
Audio Considerations	Ensure clear, balanced audio levels. Avoid loud/distorted background music or audio.
Video Length	Aim for 10-30 seconds for consistency across submissions.

Accepted file types: mp4, Max. file size: 500 MB.

Logo Requirements
Logo File Format	PNG (transparent background) or SVG. JPEG is acceptable with high resolution.
Logo Resolution	High resolution for Full HD display (minimum 300x300 pixels). Ensure clarity when resized.
Logo Transparency	Preferably submit with transparent backgrounds in PNG format.
Logo Color Profile	Use RGB colour mode for screen display. Avoid colours clashing with backgrounds.
Logo Size	Ensure logos are proportional to other content and not too large/small.
File Naming	Name files clearly (e.g., CompanyName_Logo.png or BrandName_Logo.svg).
Logo Positioning	Indicate preferred placement (e.g., top-left, bottom-right). If unspecified, will fit within layout.
